Biography

Dr. Linnis Joseph has been a doctor for over 25 years, having graduated from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus in 1999. She started her career at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas with the intention of being an open heart surgeon. While passionately pursuing a career in surgery, she discovered that she preferred the work of preventing diseases to surgically repairing poor life choices. A drastic and dramatic career change occurred from pursuing surgery to being an Accident and Emergency doctor for three and a half years to becoming a primary care physician and family medicine doctor.

She worked over the past 19 years in the public health sector in several Health Centers in St. George county in Trinidad under the North West Regional Health Authority.

Embracing a holistic approach to healthcare, Dr. Joseph is dedicated to highlighting the impact of social, emotional, and mental health on an individual’s overall well-being which is often overlooked in the diagnosis and management of patients across all sectors.

Her focus has developed into medical coaching, which is a holistic medley of what she has learnt about health over the years - not simply the visit the doctor, the blood tests, labs and X-rays to fix what is physically wrong, but including mental health, financial health, social health, spiritual wellness, relationships as well as being successful in parenting and in career.

She has found ways of bringing all of life and health together to help persons to live their best lives referring to select specialists in other fields when necessary.
